How it works

1️⃣

List your tasks

Type each task and give it an honest time estimate. Watch the "done by" time update as your list grows. That number is the whole point.

▶️

Time each task

Press Start and work against the countdown. Run over? It counts into red overtime instead of silently giving up on you.

Complete and repeat

Mark the task done, take a breath, start the next one. Small finished blocks beat one vague open-ended slog.

Why put times on a to-do list?

A plain to-do list tells you what to do but hides the only question that matters at 3pm: "when will I be done?" Without durations, five small tasks and five huge ones look identical, so overcommitting is invisible until it's too late.

Adding a time estimate to every task, even a rough one, turns your list into a plan. The total tells you if today is realistic. The timer keeps a single task from quietly swallowing the afternoon. And counting into overtime, instead of stopping at zero, teaches you what things actually cost, which makes tomorrow's estimates better.

If you have ADHD, this is the difference between a list you avoid and a plan you can feel: time made visible. We've written more about the research on time blindness and the tools that help.

Frequently asked questions

Is this task manager really free?

Yes: completely free, no account, no sign-up, no limits. It's made by the team behind the Set app, and it stays free.

Where is my task list stored?

In your own browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and your list is waiting for you next time you open this page in the same browser.

Does the timer survive switching tabs?

Yes. It's anchored to the clock, not the tab, so backgrounding the page won't lose your progress.

What happens when the timer hits zero?

A gentle chime plays and the timer keeps counting into red overtime, so you always know how far past the estimate you are. Deadlines shouldn't vanish when they pass.
