Focus Mode

Distraction-Free Today

Focus Mode strips the Today view down to just your tasks and their start times, so nothing competes for your attention while you work through the day. It’s available on iPhone and iPad.

Entering Focus Mode

There are two ways in:

  • Tap the empty space below your Today list
  • Tap the Today tab again while you’re already on Today

What It Hides

When Focus Mode is active, Set hides everything that isn’t essential:

  • The overview section and the date strip
  • The toolbar and the add button
  • The tab bar
  • Each task’s colour bar, duration, and other metadata

What’s left is a clean list of task titles and start times.

Read-Only Rows

Rows become read-only, so a stray tap can’t open a card or start an edit.

  1. Tap a task to reveal its completion circle (tap again to hide it)
  2. Tap the circle to mark the task complete

Subtasks work the same way. Tap a completed task to hide it.

Estimated Finish Time

The estimated finish time shows at the bottom of the list, so you always know when the day’s work wraps up.

Leaving Focus Mode

Tap the background again, or tap the exit button at the bottom of the list.

Settings

Two options under Settings → Interface fine-tune Focus Mode:

  • Hide Completed in Focus Mode (default on): keeps finished tasks out of the list for a shorter view.
  • Hide Status Bar in Focus Mode (default off): also hides the system status bar for the fullest focus.

iPhone and iPad only

Focus Mode is designed for touch and is available on iPhone and iPad.
